New DVP elected
After an election the name of the next District VP elect for District 12 is to be Jean- Pierre Hauet of the France Section. His term as elect will commence 1st January 2010. He will succeed as VP on 1st Januray 2011.
Current VP Dignan said "I would like to be the first to formally offer my congratulations to you on being elected to serve as DVP for 2011 and 2012. I know that you will bring your great enthusiasm and passion for ISA to this important role in our Society." He also piad tribute to the nominating committee who ran the election, particularly Alex Bobavitch, District Niominator and Dianna Noyes in staff."
Jean Pierre stated: It's a great honor to be elected as DVP for D12 and I would like to thank very warmly all our colleagues who have placed their confidence in my election.
I know of course that times are difficult and that nothing is granted for free. We have to work harder than ever and be imaginative in order to promote the renaissance of our Society. Automation remains at the core of the economic development. However, it has to be recognized by politicians and high executives as well as by our students. New technology is blossoming and is a chance for the "old economies" to recover their dynamism and their competitiveness.
It will be pleasure to assist Kevin during the coming year in his difficult mandate and I will do my best in order to meet with all the sections representatives and try to outline new initiatives which would be profitable to the Society and its D12 sections.

SUAI student section president-elect Georgy Kuyumchev was declared as the "St. Petersburg best student 2009" in a nomination which cited "The best in research and creative work".

Yes we have INTECH every month but because this is base on the worldwide membership the "small" technical meetings of Italy or Ireland will not feature. This is why the regular newsletter and (if available) the section up-to-date website is so vital. On the left is the latest newsletters brought to our attention, that of the new Kuwait Section.
