As 2007 comes to a close, I hope this time finds you in good health and spirit. I would like to take this opportunity to share with you some of the accomplishments of 2007 and the strategies and initiatives underway to move ISA forward. In 2007, the Society's focus was turned outward with the goal of trumpeting the automation profession and enhancing the careers of automation professionals, while strengthening and broadening our five core competencies. We initiated what will be a decade-long journey with a vision for automation workforce development to position many of our existing products, services, and certifications with new awareness activities to attract future automation professionals. As part of that journey, we began forging new relationships with industry, governments, and academia. These activities are establishing ISA as the voice of the profession and truly setting the standard for automation, an essential discipline in a changing world.
In summary, 2007 was a successful year, and positioned the Society and the profession we serve toward a bright future. For that, I say thank you, one and all! I've said in numerous gatherings that with the excitement that has been generated, it is a great time to be an ISA leader! It truly has been an honor and a privilege to lead the Society in 2007. Thank you for allowing me to serve as ISA President. Best wishes for a prosperous and fulfilling 2008,
